Dr. Tijion Esho

A medical tribunal found that a cosmetic doctor provided free Botox to a patient in exchange for sex at his clinic.

According to the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), allegations against Dr. Oluwafemi “Tijion” Esho, a UK-based doctor, that between June 2019 and May 2022 he had “an inappropriate emotional relationship” with a female client (called Patient A), “behaved sexually inappropriately” towards her and his actions were “ sexually motivated.”

Esho, 42 – who has several celebrity clients and has appeared on ITV’s This Morning, BBC’s Morning Live and E4’s Body Fixers – admitted engaging in “inappropriate” sexual behavior on Instagram Having sent messages with Patient A.

However, he denied any physical sexual contact with her.

During a hearing on April 9, an MPTS panel ruled that Esho had sex with Patient A at his clinic in Newcastle, England, in August 2021 and gave him free Botox immediately afterwards.

The panel found that Esho told the woman that he “could get away with giving her Botox in exchange for sexual services,” according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. He also acknowledged the possible consequences, telling Patient A that this would violate “doctor’s code of conduct and I would be a dead man.”

The court agreed that the woman’s statement, in which she recalled Esho’s exchange of sex for Botox, was consistent with the sexual messages between the two. The MPTS concluded that Esho also had another sexual encounter with Patient A during a previous medical consultation in August 2020.

The MPTS said the hearing would be held again later this month to determine whether Esho’s “activity in the performance of his duties is currently impaired as a result of the misconduct”, which could result in him being suspended or removed from the medical register .

Following the MPTS ruling, Esho and his clinic released a statement on Instagram on April 10.

“We are disappointed that the MPTS has ruled against me today in connection with the allegations that I deny,” he wrote. “During the hearing and investigation, in which I cooperated fully, I stressed that I deeply regretted the errors I made in communicating with Patient A and I admitted the allegations relating to these serious ones Errors of judgment related. I am truly sorry for these actions and apologize to anyone I let down as a result.”

However, it was always clear to me that although my behavior in communicating with Patient A was wrong, I repeat categorically that physical sexual contact never occurred. While I respect the MPTS and the process, I disagree with its decision,” he continued. “My life’s work has been and remains focused on helping people. I will continue to dedicate myself fully to this goal. I am incredibly grateful to my patients and friends who have supported me during this incredibly difficult time.”
