Man dead in Greenwood Co. car and motorcycle crash

GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man is dead after colliding with a car attempting to make a U-turn on a state highway Friday night.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on S.C. Highway 246 around 11 p.m. Friday.

A 2005 Honda Accord and a 2003 Harley Davidson were traveling east on SC 246 when the Honda attempted to make a U-turn. The motorcycle then crashed into the Honda Accord,

The motorcyclist was then taken to Self Regional Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Greenwood County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as Stanley Marion Bell. He was 56 years old. Officials said Bell died due to blunt force trauma.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are still investigating the crash.
