Franklin police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured Saturday afternoon.

Franklin Police Chief Kirby Cochran reported that his officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of North Aberdeen Drive, located in the Branigan Woods neighborhood, to investigate a shooting at approximately 1:48 p.m.

FPD investigators determined that two adults appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds. The victims, a man and a woman, both between 30 and 35 years old, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Kirby stated that FPD is not sure whether the injuries the victims sustained were life-threatening or not.

Police do not believe the incident poses an ongoing threat to the public. FPD stated that investigators do not believe there were any shooters or citizens involved in the incident that they did not acknowledge.

Police are still investigating the shooting. Kirby stated that more information will be released as officers gather more information about the incident.
