Lehi High School teacher injured in unknown accident

SALT LAKE CITY — A Lehi High School teacher was injured in what the Alpine School District and the Lehi Police Department called a “tragic, very unfortunate accident.”

Lehi High School and LPD said in a statement that the accident occurred during class at approximately 11:38 a.m. Friday

The teacher was taken to the hospital after the accident and no students were reported injured.

“During this difficult time, we extend our deepest concern to the affected teachers and their families. We are grateful that no students were injured in the accident and we appreciate the quick and professional response of the Lehi Fire Department and Police Department,” the statement said.

The statement said all parents of Lehi High School students were notified of the accident. Parents were also informed about support services and crisis counseling available to students.

The accident is under investigation, according to the statement.
