Ukrainian forces shoot down Russian Su-25 fighter jets near Avdiivka

The 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General Marko Bezruchko successfully shot down a Russian SU-25 attack aircraft in the direction of Avdiivka, marking another significant success of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in air defense.

According to the General Staff, Russia has already lost 348 aircraft and 325 helicopters in the war against Ukraine. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia had about 1,500 fighter jets at the start of the full-scale invasion.

The brigade’s report said: “The sinking of Russian aircraft continues. Once again our anti-aircraft gunners did an excellent job and shot down another SU-25 today. The occupiers still haven’t realized that they shouldn’t fly in our skies. They will continue to fall.”

This development follows a similar incident reported exactly a week ago, on May 4, when President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the same brigade had shot down another Russian SU-25 in the Donetsk region, reflecting a continuing pattern of Ukrainian capabilities in defending their airspace against Russian troops underlined air strikes.
