Thieves break into Atlanta strip club, allegedly steal $250,000


Two people broke into the Onyx Gentlemen’s Club in Atlanta using power tools to gain entry through the roof.


A brazen burglary took place at an Atlanta strip club and netted thieves around $250,000 in cash after they allegedly entered the venue through the roof.

According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, two people broke into the Onyx Gentlemen’s Club using power tools to enter the venue on May 6. They managed to steal about $250,000 in cash after gaining access to several safes, police officials said. Police also said the theft took place around 4:16 a.m.

Atlanta police released a statement regarding the incident. After receiving a phone call regarding the theft, officers were informed upon arrival at Onyx that two suspects wearing masks and ski gloves had entered through the ceiling. They allegedly crawled into the safes and used power tools to break in and steal approximately $250,000 in cash. Although alarms were present in the club, none were triggered and the thieves appeared to place the club’s vending machines face down. However, none of the vending machines were damaged or broken into. They reportedly left the scene approximately two hours after breaking into Onyx.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

WSB-TV reported that three people who work at the club and who asked not to be identified said several surveillance cameras recorded the theft. They also mentioned that the suspects were seen fleeing the scene.

THE Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that police did not release the surveillance footage.

The attempts to WSB-TVContacting Onyx Gentlemen’s Club via email, social media and phone was unsuccessful as the venue did not respond to media reports. WSB-TV also contacted the Atlanta Police Department, but due to the ongoing investigation into the theft, a spokesperson declined to comment.
