Three people were arrested after an armed carjacking led to a police chase in Summerville

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) – An armed carjacking ended with a crashed car and the arrest of three suspects, including at least one juvenile, Friday night.

According to Summerville police, three male suspects robbed a victim at gunpoint outside Zaxby’s in Azalea Square.

Police saw the car and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the group fled in the car, leading to a chase.

The pursuit ended when the suspects crashed the stolen car on East Doty Avenue and attempted to flee the scene.

Police deployed K9 units and successfully located and arrested all three suspects.

No further information has been released regarding the identities of the suspects, their specific charges, or whether or not they are currently in custody.
