Wife of a KAS officer found dead

A 36-year-old lawyer and wife of a Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) official was found dead at her house in Dollars Colony in Sanjaynagar on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Chaitra, wife of SM Shivakumar, who works at KIADB.

The couple married in 2016 and had a daughter. The incident came to light around 1 pm when Shivakumar, who had left the house, returned home and found her dead.

The police sent the body for an autopsy and carried out a random check. Police found a death certificate at the scene stating that no one was responsible for her death and that she took the extreme step due to stress and depression.

Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother, the police have registered a case of unnatural death and are awaiting a post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death. Some doubts have been expressed about the death note, which is believed to have been written a few days ago. The death notice in question was also sent to FSL to ascertain whether any crime was committed, a senior police official said.
