South Dakotan was arrested on January 6, 2021 for his role at the US Capitol

RAPID CITY, SD (KELO.com) – A South Dakota man has been arrested for his actions during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Darrell Goins, 42, of Newell, South Dakota, is charged with six felonies, including assault on law enforcement officers.

Video footage shows Goins hurling a bottle at a Capitol Police officer, getting a riot shield and later entering the Capitol itself.

The FBI arrested Goins on May 9 and made his first appearance in South Dakota County on Friday.
