1 dead after Ohio movie theater shooting, police say

One person has died after an overnight shooting at a movie theater in Ohio, police said.

On Friday around 11 p.m. local time, Massillon police were notified of a shooting at Regal Cinemas, 175 Cherry Road NW in Massillon. Officers responded and found a dead man near the front of the lobby.

The victim was identified as Daron Davis, 27, of Canton, Ohio.

According to police, a person was taken into custody at the Massillon Police Department shortly after 11:30 p.m. The person, who could not be identified, “is currently considered a suspect,” police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
