Severe alert days Tuesday and Wednesday

Severe alert days Tuesday and Wednesday

METEOROLOGIST MATT MILOSEVICH. IN ORDER. WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT SEVERE ALERT CONDITIONS IN OUR SKIES TODAY. THAT’S WHY YOU SEE THE RED SYMBOL UP THERE. BECAUSE I BELIEVE CONDITIONS WILL BE FAVORABLE FOR WE TO WATCH, MAYBE EVEN HAVE SOME WARNINGS IN OUR SKIES DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. The morning started off pretty quiet. NOW 66 DEGREES. Be aware that there will be a bit of patchy fog throughout the area. IF YOU ARE WATCHING US IN MADISON, INDIANA, YOU HAVE REPORTED Slightly Denser FOG TO THE NORTH AND EAST. That should give way to temperatures rising by midday, although we’ll start to turn our eyes to the west late morning and midday with some showers and thunderstorms moving in. And while we’re a long way from seeing storms and total flooding throughout the day, we need to make sure that anything going into the afternoon is in an environment conducive to strong to severe weather. AS WE CONTINUE THE DAY AND ESPECIALLY THE EVENING. TONIGHT IT STARTS WITH A SYSTEM BUILDING FROM THE WEST. THE LINE OF STORMS NOW PASSING THROUGH SAINT LOUIS is weakening briefly, but this could be a focal point for some of the storms to regenerate to a stronger side for us later today. AND THAT’S WHY WE HAVE A SERIOUS THREAT IN THE OHIO VALLEY REGION THAT IS ORANGE OR LEVEL THREE OUT OF FIVE ON THE SCALE FOR MOST OF THE WLKY REGION: DAMAGING WIND GUSTS, LARGE HAIL AND EVEN A SINGLE TORNADO. THREATS AND THE STRONGEST STORMS. ALSO TOMORROW, SIMILAR CONDITIONS WILL BE EXPERIENCED ACROSS THE REGION WITH A FRONT THAT WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ON THIS FRONT, FINALLY DRYING OUT AND COOLING LATE IN THE WEEK, BUT IT WILL BECOME VERY WIDE SPREAD TODAY AND TOMORROW. There is a severe weather threat across the region. YOU SEE, FROM NEAR CINCINNATI, LOUISVILLE, TO MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS AND EVEN NORTHEAST TEXAS. So it’s a very strong weather system that once again poses dangers from wind, hail and even the possibility of a few tornadoes in our skies today. AND TOMORROW. That’s why we’re keeping a close eye on it for you. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IN FREQUENTLY AS WE GO INTO YOUR THURSDAY. We dry out at 79 in the afternoon. How about heights? JUST IN THE UPPER 60S ON FRIDAY, AHEAD OF A FEW STORM CHANCES THAT DON’T LOOK SEVERE ON SATURDAY. BUT WE WILL STEAM UP OUR AFTERNOON AND EVENING. We are there until Sunday and Monday
