First alarm forecast: Wonderful Mother’s Day weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – It’s going to be a beautiful weekend across the Mid State with pleasant temperatures and lots of sunshine.

NORTHERN LIGHTS

Did you see the amazing display of colors in the sky last night? Thanks to a so-called geomagnetic storm, the northern lights made a rare appearance as far away as Alabama and Mississippi last night. This phenomenon doesn’t happen often. In fact, the last time you could see color in most of the United States was in 2005. Having the opportunity to see them throughout Mid State was perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
