Telly Hall, a mixologist and cast member of the new Hulu reality series “Vanderpump Villa,” got into an argument with lead server Marciano Brunette in the first episode during the opening night in the French countryside. She even pushed him.

But Lisa Vanderpump, the “Real Housewives” vet and doyenne of “Vanderpump Rules,” didn’t fire her. She tried to understand what triggered Telly and gave her a second chance.

When Telly recorded the show, she was living in Atlanta and working at Wicked Wolf in Midtown. She has owned a bar for 12 years and would like to own a salon one day. When she applied for this bartending job offer, she didn’t realize it was a reality show, but decided to embrace it once she found out.

When recording began last year, she hadn’t expected to get angry so quickly, but she knew from the moment Marciano arrived that he was causing her problems. She became angry when he accused her of not tending the bar properly. “I work in a lot of restaurants with passive aggressive service,” she said. “The castle is not that big. There were only eight guests. I was working at a high-volume bar in Miami, making 1,000 mojitos.

Telly apologized but noted, “In the real world, I might have hit him in the head with a bottle.”

She also garnered a lot of hate on social media for making fun of fellow cast member Gabriella Sanon by calling her “Toucan Sam.”

“People harass me,” she said. “She and I are friends. We both recognize where we went wrong in the situation. I am the one who is held responsible for this. It’s not cool to judge someone by their appearance. I am human. Unfortunately, for me, I was a little too real for reality TV.

At least Lisa Vanderpump was cute with her. “She’s truly a mentor,” Telly said. “I’m the problem child. She had to wash my mouth out with soap, then hand me a pacifier and say, “See why I had to do that? »

The cast hosted multiple parties to record 10 episodes over the course of a month, such as a secret engagement, a celebration of a transgender person’s transition, and a divorce party. Oddly, all the guests are American and most of the cast are American despite the fact that the entire series was filmed in France.

As a bartender, she noticed a relative lack of tequila in France, despite a fair share of quality bourbons and red wines. “I was expecting that French experience but I made a lot of American cocktails,” Hall said. “People really wanted margaritas.”
