Pakistani cleric arrested for raping minor girl | Indiablooms

A Pakistani cleric in Larkana was recently arrested for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old student at a mosque.

The minor’s father, Baghan Chandio, revealed that his son along with other children regularly visited the Khalid Bin Waleed Mosque near their residence in Larkana town, Dialogue Pakistan reported.

According to the FIR, a family member caught mosque teacher Naimat Yaseen committing the crime.

The victim’s father mentioned that the cleric, who also belonged to the Chandio tribe, was caught red-handed by his brother and cousin while they were at the mosque for afternoon prayers, the news portal reported.

“Despite trying, the teacher managed to escape,” Baghan told the news portal.

The incident was widely condemned on social media.
