Plano City Council votes on permanent police chief appointment and food truck ordinance

The appointment of a permanent police chief and a vote on food truck regulations will be the focus of the Plano City Council meeting scheduled for Monday. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the town hall.

The City Council will vote on appointing interim Chief Norm Allison as the city’s new permanent police chief. Allison has been the interim chief since former Police Chief Jonathan Whowell retired in January.

The council will also vote on an ordinance to regulate food trucks in the city. This ordinance was discussed in the Committee of the Whole meeting last month. Regulations would include no door-to-door sales, no alcohol sales and the need to obtain a health certificate from Kendall County. The license would be $25 per year.

Plano City Hall is located at 17 E. Main Street.
