Woman raped by armed man in daylight attack

The rape of a woman by an armed man in the forest has led to a two-day police operation near the scene.

The victim, in her 20s, was walking along Brandon Road in Binley Woods, Warwickshire, before she was taken into a woodland area and attacked, West Mercia Police said.

Officers said she was approached by an unknown man between 2pm and 3pm BST last Monday who threatened her with a bladed object.

Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage that could assist with the investigation to contact us.

Police said officers would be out in the area of ​​Brandon Road and Rugby Road on Monday and Tuesday.

“We are aware of the concern this will cause in the local community and although there have been no arrests, I would like to reassure you that we are carrying out a full investigation,” Det Insp Carl Buckley said.
