Have you ever seen this before?! The Northern Lights illuminate Western New York

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Northern Lights lit up Western New York Friday evening, creating an incredible green and purple show in the sky!

The northern lights, or aurora borealis, are caused by the interaction of the solar wind with the Earth’s magnetosphere.

Our region has had its best chance of seeing the Northern Lights since 2005.
