Central Bucks SD under federal investigation over teacher’s alleged anti-Semitic comments | Southeastern Pennsylvania

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — A complaint filed by several parents about a teacher’s alleged anti-Semitism sparked a federal investigation into the Central Bucks School District.

Parents are accusing a Spanish teacher at Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown of posting anti-Semitic and anti-Israel comments on social media.

The complaint says the school district did not address the situation despite being informed of the comments.

Parents want the teacher fired because they fear he is fomenting hatred toward Jewish students.

“How can a Jewish student feel safe going to their classroom and learning Spanish or even knowing they are in school?” said Monique Hofkin, who helped the parents file the complaint.

School district officials say they do not believe any groups of students were discriminated against.

The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights will investigate whether the district did anything wrong.
