Local sex offender arrested for failing to provide his address

A Level 2 registered sex offender living in Hot Springs was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly failing to update his address with local law enforcement.

Michael Eugene Bradshaw, 76, who listed a Rock Creek Road address at the time of his arrest, was arrested about 6:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Albert Pike Road on a warrant for failure to comply with sex offender registration reporting requirements, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 can be punished with years in prison.

Bradshaw was released the next day on $3,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in Garland County District Court on June 21.

According to court records, on Dec. 13, 2016, Bradshaw pleaded no contest to felony sexual indecency with a child in Pope County and was sentenced to six years probation.

The charge stems from his arrest on October 1, 2015, after Russellville police conducted a sting in which an investigator posed as a 14-year-old girl and arranged to meet Bradshaw at a motel where he was arrested. when he was taken into possession of “roses” and “sexual devices.” Bradshaw reportedly admitted after his arrest that he came there “to engage in sexual contact with someone he believed to be 14 years old.”

On July 21, 2020, Bradshaw was arrested in Garland County for failing to register as a sex offender, but the charges were withdrawn on October 26, 2020.

According to the probable cause affidavit for Tuesday’s arrest, Bradshaw registered with the Hot Springs Police Department on Dec. 26, 2023, as a Level 2 sex offender classified as a “moderate risk of reoffending” and completed the verification process by providing an address the 3400 block of Central Avenue.

Bradshaw reportedly left his Central Avenue address on February 16 and failed to provide his new address as required. On March 19, he was arrested for reckless driving and taken to the Garland County Detention Center. He allegedly failed to report his arrest within five days of his detention, as required by law.

At the time of his arrest, he provided a Rock Creek Road address and an affidavit in which he failed to report his new address to the Garland County Sheriff’s Office, even though he now lived within their jurisdiction.

“Bradshaw failed to update his new address and has still not returned to the Hot Springs Police Department or the Garland County Sheriff’s Office to verify and update this information as of (Monday), 36 business days after the designated date which required his information to be updated. “Registration,” the affidavit states.

An arrest warrant was issued for Bradshaw on Monday.
