2 dead, 2 injured in two-vehicle crash in East Houston’s Galveston

HOUSTONAn investigation is now underway following a fatal accident which occurred on Wednesday evening.

Authorities said the crash happened in the 5200 block of Galveston just after 8:15 p.m.

Authorities said there was a report of a silver vehicle attempting to turn left from Timber Creed Drive onto Galveston Road.

At the same time, authorities said a truck was traveling southbound on Galveston Road and struck the silver vehicle.

Authorities said both vehicles stopped more than 100 feet from the intersection.

Police said there were two people in each vehicle. Both people in the silver vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two people in the van, believed to be aged between 17 and 19, were taken to hospital by ambulance. Their conditions were unknown.

Officials said it’s unclear if speed was a factor, but it will be part of the investigation.
