Police issue public safety warning | News

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Carbondale Police issued a warning Friday evening asking the public to avoid the area of ​​500 South Rawlings Street due to the police presence.

The background is an incident in which three people were injured in a shooting in the same area.

On the evening of May 9, police found two victims with gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital by Jackson County Ambulance Service.

Officials later learned that a third victim had arrived at the hospital. Two of the three injured victims were reportedly juveniles.

It is not clear whether the two instances are related.
