Police arrest suspected car thieves after a short pursuit in southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – As the Portland Police Bureau arrested car theft suspects in Southeast Portland Friday evening, KOIN 6 News investigative reporter reported Elise Haas was there as part of an upcoming special report.

The arrests occurred near the 205 Mall after a short chase ended with police using spike strips and officers eventually catching the suspects as they tried to flee.


It’s part of local law enforcement’s Stolen Vehicle Operation, which focuses on combating gun violence, car theft and other crimes.
