Northern Lights forecast for Western New York tonight

2 On Your Side at 10 p.m. Friday asked viewers to share their photos and videos if they were able to see the Northern Lights. The response was overwhelming.

BUFFALO, NY — Knowing that people might be able to see the Northern Lights this weekend, Storm Team 2’s Jennifer Stanonis broke down the forecast and shared her optimism that we might see them.

2 On Your Side at 10 p.m. asked viewers to share their photos if they were able to see the Northern Lights. There was no guarantee that conditions would be ideal.

The response was overwhelming, with dozens of people sharing their incredible insights almost immediately. A Facebook post received more than 400 comments in the first hour alone, many attaching photos showing green and purple glows in the night sky.
