Seminole Parks prostitution sting ends with three arrests, including a UCF trustee

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla — A prostitution sting ended with the arrest of three men — including a member of the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees and an employee of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, investigators said.

In multiple arrest reports, officers said they conducted an undercover operation Thursday at two parks in Seminole County: Liberty Park in Lake Mary and Sandlando Park in Altamonte Springs.

“This operation repeatedly involved people exposing their sexual organs and committing lewd and indecent acts in the park,” a report said.

Using the application “Sniffies” — defined as a “card-based web app for gay, bisexual, and bisexual men” — undercover agents contacted suspects who agreed to come to the parks for sexual favors, the reports show.

The suspects arrested in this operation were:

  • Harold Mills, 53 — Arrested at Sandlando Park in Altamonte Springs

  • Jairo Areis, 39 — Arrested at Liberty Park in Lake Mary

  • Leroy Green, 35 — Arrested at Liberty Park in Lake Mary

According to UCF officials, Mills serves on the boards of UCF, Guidewell, Florida Blue, Rollins College, LIFT Orlando and the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center.

Officers said Mills exposed his genitals to one of the undercover agents as he stood by the open driver’s door window in the park.

After asking for sexual favors, Mills was handcuffed, although he claimed that going to the park was “just clearing his head,” the report said.

Areis was also arrested after he reportedly exposed his genitals to an undercover agent under the pavilion in Liberty Park, officials added.

Meanwhile, Green — an employee of the SCSO — was caught exposing his genitals and asking an undercover officer to perform sexual favors for him, investigators said.

Green has since resigned from his position, the sheriff’s office said.

“We let the documents speak for themselves,” an SCSO spokesperson told News 6.

Mills is charged with indecent exposure and consenting to secure a prostitute. He is being held on $1,250 bond.

Areis is charged with exposing sexual organs and inciting lewd acts. He is being held on a $1,500 bond.

Green is charged with exposure of sexual organs and promoting prostitution. He is being held on a $1,500 bond.

News 6 has reached out to UCF for comment and is awaiting a response.
