Arrest for murder of two women found dead in San Lorenzo home

A “person of interest” has been arrested in connection with the murders of two San Lorenzo women whose bodies were found last week, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

The women, who were in their 30s, were found shot to death May 4 in the apartment they shared in the 15000 block of Dermody Avenue near Hesperian Boulevard. They are believed to have been killed on or about May 1, the sheriff’s office said.

The women’s relatives reported them missing after phone calls and text messages were not responded to since April 30, the sheriff’s department said.

The bodies were found when officers went to the Dermody Avenue residence to check on their welfare.

The sheriff’s office said it will not release any information about the victims or the person arrested “until further notice.” There is no known threat to public safety, the sheriff’s office said.
