One person is killed in a crash in St. John the Baptist Parish, according to state police

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. — A man is dead after a crash Thursday evening on U.S. 61 in St. John the Baptist Parish, according to State Police Troop B.

According to state police, the accident occurred near LA 54 in Garyville around 10:40 p.m. Conrad Jones of Reserve, 44, died in the crash.

Jones was driving a 2006 Ford pickup when his truck left the road, “went through a ditch and rolled several times.”

Troop B said Jones was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital where he later died.
