Two people were killed and another injured in a head-on crash near Montgomery on Sunday, authorities said Friday.

Jerad E. Swartz, 32, of Roanoke, Virginia, was driving a Scion Joshua Thompson, senior law enforcement officer, on Sunday around 11:30 p.m.

Swartz and a passenger on the Malibu, 31-year-old Jalisa L. Smart-Haynes of Union Springs, were pronounced dead at the scene, Thompson said.

A third victim was injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.

No further information was available as state police continued to investigate the wreck.
