Northern lights could be visible across the United States Friday evening

A strong geomagnetic storm is expected Friday evening. NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center has released a G4 (Severe) geomagnetic watch for the first time since 2005, meaning the Northern Lights, or Northern Lights, could be visible across much of the northern United States Friday evening and early Saturday morning.

It may be visible lower on the horizon further south, from southern California to the eastern southern United States.
