Clarence Farm Hosts Mother’s Day Event Featuring Animals and Activities

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — With twitching beaks, snouts and noses, the animals at Kelkenberg Farm in Clarence might be a little curious about your Mother’s Day weekend plans.

If you’re looking for something to do, Charlene Spoth, owner of Kelkenberg Farm, hopes families will want to bring their mothers to meet the farm mothers and learn about farm life.

“You can learn about sheep and wool, smell different types of wool, ride ponies, see big draft horses, hold chicks, hold rabbits, hold sheep and goats,” Spoth said .

Throughout the weekend, Resurgence Brewery and BlackBird Cider will stop by and the farm will offer food, a corn hole and plenty of games for kids to participate in. This is an annual event where every dollar raised goes to help veterans in our community.

“We chose the One-Stop Veterans Center because it is a team on the ground, right in our community,” Spoth said. “We know that almost 100 percent of the money we give them goes directly to veterans programs. »

Last year they raised almost $10,000 for the center and this year they hope to raise even more.

Families can help show their support by visiting, while learning about farm life through these hands-on experiences.

“I love when people can come and learn, enjoy and leave saying, you know what, we had a great time, I learned something today,” Spoth said.

From kids to baby bunnies, they have so many animals for you to meet. Admission is $12 per person and children under 2 are free. Tickets can be found here.
