Man is accused of raping a child during a burglary in Rockville

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News now) – Police say a man faces burglary and rape charges after a child found him returning home from a Rockville apartment on April 24.

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCDP) said officers arrested 33-year-old Eric Bacon two days after the attack.

Officers found Bacon in the 15900 block of Frederick Road, about nine blocks from the apartment where he is accused of raping the child. Investigators said Bacon left the apartment with stolen items after the attack, which occurred around 3 p.m. on April 24. It was about 7pm that day when the child’s brother came home. He said he saw Bacon outside her home at the time.

Montgomery County police said they are concerned that Bacon may have victimized other people.
