Popular Australian young model Sian Scale has died at the age of 28

An aspiring Australian model who worked around the world has died aged just 28, her family has announced.

Sian Scale, who lived in Melbourne but worked in London, New York and Paris, died this week, her family announced.

The 28-year-old died at the Peter McCallum Center near Melbourne’s central business district.

She was suffering from a rare and incurable cancer Herald Sun reported.

Marc Jacobs, Burberry and Chanel were some of the fashion houses Scale had collaborated with.

She was signed by the well-known Australian modeling agency Chadwick.

“She was determined and strong and handled the most difficult year of her life with so much acceptance, optimism and vulnerability,” her family said in a statement.

They added that Scale never offered company or asked “why me” about her suffering.

“Sian was very generous, loving, kind, funny, adventurous and humble.”

Scale grew up in Mansfield, about 124 miles northeast of Melbourne.

Her family said she felt comfortable on the farm and in the fashion world, then recalled once taking her straight from a camping trip to the Melbourne Fashion Festival.

“She was always willing to try something new and did things on her own terms,” the family wrote.

“Sian quickly made a name for herself as a personable and easy-going model and quickly became a model in her home country thanks to her generous nature and natural beauty.”

“Miss her more than words can express”

As part of her global modeling career, Scale has also appeared in Fashion And Vanity Fair Magazines.

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our beautiful model Sian Scale,” Chadwick modeling agency said in a statement.

“Sian was a radiant and unique light in our world, which followed its own rhythm without compromise.

“We will all miss her more than words can express, and her incredible work in pictures will forever be immortalized.”

Scale said she wishes people would donate blood in her honor.

“If anyone wants to do anything in memory of me, it’s to donate blood – it’s the gift of life,” she said.
