Tucson police are investigating the sexual assault of a child

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Tucson Police are searching for suspects or persons of interest in an investigation into the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.

According to TPD, investigators learned the attack occurred on April 1.

According to police, the teen was a passenger on the Sun Tran bus on Route 17. Police say she was approached by an older man on the bus. During a conversation with the man, he convinced the teen to go to his apartment in the 3400 block of North Country Club Road.

This is south of Prince Road.

According to TPD, the juvenile victim at one point ingested an unknown substance and lost consciousness in the residence.

Hours later, she woke up surrounded by the older man and other unknown men, some of whom had sexually assaulted the victim.

According to police, the victim was able to collect his belongings and leave after all the men had left the apartment. The attack was reported the following day.

Investigators spoke with the victim and collected evidence, including video footage from the bus.

As part of the investigation, investigators followed the bus route and located the apartment described by the victim. A search warrant was obtained for the apartment and additional evidence was collected.

In addition, investigators received the description of three people suspected of being involved.

TPD crime scene technicians prepared a forensic sketch of the three individuals.
