South Dakota man arrested for involvement in Capitol breach

SIOUX FALLS, SD (Dakota News Now) – A Newell, South Dakota man has been arrested for his role in the breach of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The Justice Department said Darrell Goins will be charged with assault and resisting arrest at the Capitol.

Investigators said Goins was part of a group of people who entered the Capitol and began physically engaging with Capitol Police officers.

Goins was able to exit the building without being taken into custody.

He was arrested in South Dakota on Thursday and made his first court appearance on Friday.
