Coroner identifies man killed after being stabbed during altercation in Hamilton

The coroner has identified the man found dead in a crashed car in Hamilton on Wednesday evening. It happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday between Elmont Avenue and Ross Avenue in Hamilton. Police arrived at the scene and located a car that had crashed into a pole. One person in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. On Friday, the Butler County coroner identified the man killed as Roger Douglas Cole Jr., 29, of Hamilton. According to Hamilton Police, as the investigation continued, police said: It was determined that Cole had been stabbed on Wednesday evening while attempting to steal another person’s vehicle. Police said Cole died from the stab wound in the car that led to the crash. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Butler County coroner said Cole’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
