Man robs owner of Maywood dry cleaners and steals $400

A Hasbrouck Heights man is facing charges for allegedly assaulting and robbing a dry cleaner in Maywood, police said.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on May 9 when Shawn Todd, 53, walked into the Timely Cleaners on West Pleasant Avenue and attacked the owner while demanding money. According to police, he got away with $400 in cash.

Officials say police identified Todd as a suspect after recognizing him from previous arrests. Todd was seen on East Passaic Street the following day and arrested.

Todd faces multiple charges, including robbery, aggravated assault and theft.
