A Youngstown man could potentially spend the rest of his life behind bars for raping multiple victims over several decades.

Mahoning County Prosecutor Gina DeGenova tells 21 News: 55-year-old Robert Tullio was sentenced to 44.5 years to life in prison for three counts of rape and 10 counts of gross sexual assault.

DeGenova says Tullio’s behavior began in the late 1990s and continued into the early 2000s with three victims.

DeGenova tells us the first victim came forward in 2022, citing behavior dating back to around 2020. Following news reports about this victim’s story, two additional victims came forward with stories about their experiences with Tullio.

All three victims were minors at the time of the crime.

Degenova says she is very pleased with this sentence, which means that the victims and their families can finally have a sense of seclusion and that others are now safe from future sexual contact with Tullio.
