Hayden Rd. in Daviess Co. will be closed for five days

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced motorists will soon experience the first major transportation change since work began on the KY 54 widening project in Owensboro.

Beginning May 20, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contractors will close the entrance to Hayden Road and Gateway Commons to relocate existing water lines currently in progress during the expansion project.

According to a news release, due to clearance issues at the intersection, it is not possible to drill a borehole under the roadway, so workers will have to dig a trench across Hayden Road to lay the new pipe.

Officials say work is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. May 20 and asphalt repairs should be completed by the end of the day on May 24.

Crews say there will be a marked detour.
