Farmer’s daughter accused of raping man and beating him to death

A farmer’s daughter has been accused of sexually abusing a man with the handle of a shovel and then beating him to death.

Elena Povelyaikina, 22, is also accused of killing another man in her remote village of Mikhailovka in Russia.

She was arrested by police and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

The keen boxer, whose hobby is drawing people with severed body parts, is said to have attacked a drunken man, 37, who refused to leave the family home in August last year.

“First the girl brutally beat the man, then she took the handle of a shovel and committed violent acts of a sexual nature against the man,” the Russian Investigative Committee said.

“When the victim died, the defendant carried the body over the fence and threw it into the street.”

The police were initially unable to find a suspect.

Two months later, Povelyaikina was drinking with locals when a man named Ivan, 31, made “unflattering” comments about her gun-toting father Pyotr Povelyaikin, 57, a wealthy farmer who had raised her and her brother Valery, 26, as a single parent.

“As a 31-year-old man was lying drunk on a sofa, she jumped on him and gave him many blows with her hands and feet, causing him physical injuries from which the man died the next day,” the committee claims.

A local told the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper that Powelyaikina was “small in stature but strong.”

She completed her studies before returning home to help her father manage the family farm.

A witness to the second suspected murder claimed people were afraid to intervene because of the 22-year-old’s strength.

“He was in the house for another day. We didn’t call an ambulance, we thought he would recover on his own. But the next morning he stopped breathing,” the witness said.

According to law enforcement sources, Povelyaikina was classified as “healthy” during psychiatric examinations.

“The defendant initially confessed to both murders and then refused to testify,” said state investigator Ivan Lyubyi.

“She put forward several versions: that the first man died after being hit by a car on the street, and the second from kidney failure, which he supposedly had.

“But forensic analysis has refuted these versions.

“She was charged with intentional grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim, negligence and violence of a sexual nature. “

Her trial is expected later this year.

Her father is reportedly selling some of his land to fund her legal representation.
