Motorcyclist killed in Vista accident

The accident occurred in the 2000 block of Hacienda Drive around 1 p.m. Thursday.

VISTA, Calif. – Community members honored the life of a motorcyclist who died in a crash at a memorial in Vista Thursday evening.

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred around 1 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Hacienda Drive in Vista.

Dozens of relatives gathered at the scene of the accident on Thursday evening, where a memorial was erected.

According to a fundraiser launched in honor of Chris, friends and family have identified the motorcyclist killed in the crash as 19-year-old Chris Hendrickson.

According to fundraiser organizers, Chris would have turned 20 on May 10. One day after the fatal accident.

“Chris is loved by many and is one of the greatest young men you would ever have the pleasure of meeting. He was a respectful, hardworking and servant-oriented gentleman. He will be missed by everyone he came into contact with, including hundreds of friends and Chick-Fil-A team members, as well as thousands of guests.”


Sheriff’s deputies said the driver of the car that collided with Chris’ motorcycle was uninjured. The eastbound and westbound lanes in the area were closed for several hours while authorities investigated.

The sheriff’s department said a preliminary investigation determined that drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
