Houston-based organization surprises deserving moms in honor of Mother’s Day

HOUSTON – Mothers around the world will be recognized on Sunday as we come together to honor the love, kindness and sacrifices that come with being a mother.

This year, a Houston-based organization is making sure two groups of mothers in particular feel the love this weekend.

The Daisie Foundation and popular restaurant Raising Canes teamed up to honor and surprise 300 deserving Harris Health Systems First Responder Moms and Santa Maria Inn Moms for Mother’s Day.

Additionally, Raising Canes treated moms to lunch and they received special gifts from Benefit Cosmetics, Kroger, Shiraleah and Reliant, just in time for Mother’s Day.

KPRC 2 digital reporter Moriah Ballard spoke with Daisies Foundation Board President Julie Hightower about the event and the lasting impact it had on communities across the country.
