Sam Rubin has died at the age of 64…

Suffered a fatal heart attack

Sam Rubin — a longtime entertainment reporter for Los Angeles news station KTLA — has died … TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us… Sam died on Friday after being admitted to a hospital in LA – specifically, UCLA West Hills. We are told that Sam suffered a heart attack at his home, during which he went into complete cardiac arrest.

Our sources say he was picked up by paramedics sometime this morning. We’re told he was transported by ambulance but was ultimately pronounced dead.

Sam has been with KTLA since 1991 – and he’s been a fixture in Southern California homes for decades, covering entertainment, film and television news…including memorable, entertaining features, celebrity interviews and insightful reports that have earned him multiple Emmys .

He is a highly decorated journalist…he has received a Golden Mike Award, a lifetime achievement award from the Southern California Broadcasters Association, not to mention he was once named best entertainment reporter by the Los Angeles Press Club.

Sam hosted his own television show, Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin, which ran for over 100 episodes. Sam is also a founding member of the Broadcast Film Critics’ Association.

He conducted one of his last celebrity interviews with none other than Ryan Seacrest. Other A-listers he has chatted with on camera – Mariah Carey, Zendaya, Bert Kreischer, Morris chestnut, Jason Priestley, Brooke Burke, The stone, Matt Rife, usher, Sting and many, many more.

He leaves behind his wife, Leslie, and his four children. Sam was 64.
