Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident in Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – Police are asking for the public’s help finding a driver after a 65-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash in Downers Grove on Thursday.

After the woman was found dead, officers were called to the 600 block of Ogden Avenue around 9:10 p.m.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by an SUV traveling west on Ogden. The SUV, described as a small to mid-size, dark-colored Honda or Acura, was last seen traveling west on Ogden.

Downers Grove Police are working with MERIT of DuPage County to reconstruct the accident as the investigation continues.
