Akron elementary school teacher in the running for America’s Favorite Teacher

BUFFALO, NY — It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and we’re celebrating a Western New York teacher in the running to become America’s Favorite Teacher.

Jessica Krauss is a third grade teacher at Akron Elementary School.

She is currently in 5th place in the quarterfinals of the Teach For America competition.

If she wins, she will receive $25,000, a trip to Hawaii and be featured in Reader’s Digest.

If she wins, Krauss said she would spend some of the prize money to record her class and buy new books.
