Chillico Medical Clinic suddenly closes after its license is revoked

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Rose Medical, a local medical provider in Chillicothe, has temporarily closed, according to a social media post. The closure appears to be related to the suspension of the medical license of the clinic’s primary care physician.

Rufus Lowman Jr., a registered physician assistant, had his license suspended May 8 by the state medical board. The suspension includes a revocation of Lowman’s prescription writing rights.

“We are temporarily closed due to serious circumstances beyond our control. We hope to be back soon,” the clinic said in a social media post.

The Ohio State document showing Lowman’s driver’s license was issued was suspended.

Details of the suspension of Lowman’s license were not released. The Guardian has asked the state medical board for answers.

Residents have raised concerns about the clinic and alleged unethical practices, and the investigation is ongoing.

This is a developing story.
