Hawks F Chandler Parsons suffers concussion in car accident

Atlanta Hawks forward Chandler Parsons was in a car accident on Wednesday and was diagnosed with a concussion and whiplash, reports Chris Haynes, senior NBA insider at Yahoo Sports.

Parsons was already there excluded for the team’s road trip to San Antonio.

The injury likely won’t impact Parsons’ playing time as he has been a healthy player since Dec. 27. He has played just 54 minutes for the Hawks this season, scoring 14 points in five games.

The Hawks acquired Parsons last offseason in a trade that was more about the Memphis Grizzlies taking advantage of his $25.1 million cap hit this season, the final year of a four-year maximum contract Selling summer 2016.
