Three Syracuse football alumni receive tryouts for Buffalo Bills minicamp

Syracuse Orange football fans may not need to look far to see where former players are currently at.

The Buffalo Bills are holding their rookie minicamp today and tomorrow, May 10-11, and several Orange alumni are on their roster:

DB Jason Simmons Jr. and WR D’Marcus Adams are at minicamp, as is 2021 graduate Trill Williams. All three are participating on a tryout basis, meaning they don’t yet have a contract for the season. autumn.

Simmons played four years at SU (opting out of 2020) and made 45 tackles with two interceptions, including a pick-six, during his senior season.

Adams had a much less straightforward college career. He debuted at FSU before transferring to FAU and then again to SU in 2022. After making six catches for 180 yards in 2022, Adams caught just one pass in the fall last.

Williams was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints, then was quickly claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins. The DB spent 2021 on his practice squad and returned in 2022, but Trill tore his ACL in training camp and missed the entire season. He was excluded from the next camp.

In his three seasons at SU, Williams played both safety and corner, collecting 93 total tackles, six assists, four interceptions, including a pick-six, and three forced fumbles.
