Bluffs man charged with sexually assaulting 14-year-old

A 20-year-old Scottsbluff man was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with his 14-year-old girlfriend.

Duane Bauer was arrested Tuesday afternoon following an investigation by the Gering Police Department. During interviews, Bauer admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the girl but denied having sex with the teenager.

He was arrested on charges of first-degree sexual assault and third-degree petty assault. Bauer made his initial appearance Wednesday afternoon in Scotts Bluff County Court.
