The Charlotte murder suspect is expected to be extradited from Virginia

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – A death investigation in East Charlotte turned into a murder investigation, resulting in an arrest.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they were first called to the 6200 block of Uptas Lane on April 12 for an assault with a deadly weapon. There they discovered that 21-year-old Justin Carache-Soto had been shot.

The arrest came nearly a month later, police said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Washington Field Office arrested 23-year-old Alejandro Jose Sequeira in connection with the case and charged him with murder.

CMPD Homicide Detectives will travel to Alexandria, Virginia to speak with him.

According to the police, the extradition is still pending.
