IMPD is asking for help finding a man accused of shooting his dog

INDIANAPOLIS – IMPD is asking for the public’s help in finding a man accused of shooting and killing his neighbor’s dog.

James Gaskins, 53, allegedly shot his neighbor’s dog after another dog entered his yard and then returned to his owner’s yard, authorities said in a social media post.

“Gaskins also allegedly threatened to shoot the neighbor and other dogs,” IMPD said.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office filed an arrest warrant for Gaskins on Wednesday, May 8, on charges of homicide of a domestic animal, unlawful carrying of a handgun and intimidation.

Anyone with information about Gaskins’ whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana anonymously at 317-262-8477.
