Red Dead Redemption 2 players discover important feature after an “embarrassingly long time”

How come we keep missing out on these features?!

Nothing brings a community together like admitting your mistakes. This is even more true when said mistakes are incredibly embarrassing.

Despite the fact that games like Red Dead Redemption 2 are designed so that you need multiple playthroughs to find all the hidden treasures, knowing that this doesn’t make it any easier to escape these secrets.

First we learned that we had been handling bears all wrong, and if that wasn’t bad enough, we recently discovered that we had been fishing wrong too.

What else RDR2 Victories and failures – can we all laugh about them? See for yourself below

And now we’ve discovered something that’s crucial for any serious cowboy.

Did you know you can reverse train cars?

Apparently this wasn’t the case for everyone, and some embarrassing admissions were made.

“For an embarrassingly long time I didn’t know that you could turn wagons around. “I would steal a car for a fence, crash it into a tree, and then run away because I thought I had lost any potential payout,” revealed Redditor @intoner1.

This comes from the same person who started the thread admitting that they didn’t know they could fast travel until a few chapters later.

We bet they wish they had found out about this fast travel trick much sooner…

Similar to Bethesda SkyrimRockstar Games’ RDR2 is full of subtle features that we often overlook. Typically because we’re busy winning duels or confronting some bandits.

Unfortunately poor Arthur deserves better players than us.

But at least we now have the right tools to do justice to our next playthrough.

For those who don’t know how to reverse your cart, the OP has kindly linked another thread that gives the controls – at least for a controller.

“Hold RB/R1 to stop horses/carts while moving and hold RB/R1 to reverse while stationary,” are the simple instructions you need to follow.

Whether you can successfully implement the setback without causing carnage is a completely different question.
